Balloon Boy has taken over Twitter, every TV network, CNN.
Why? It's like a kid in a well, but the well is a spaceship.
God forbid the kid was at some point in the balloon. If he wasn't, his fear of getting in trouble with his parents is now no longer a valid concern. Fascinating, though, to watch how this has built over the past hour or so. A few tweets, then a flood - now live coverage everywhere. In minutes.

Well, pro-choicers, we've lost. Abortion foes have discovered our Achilles heel: cupcakes.
By emblazoning cupcakes with pro-life mottoes like "God loves kids," "I love babies," and "Life," the nuclear option has been exercised. I dare you to try to explain to a young person that they should have the right to control their own body when a tiny, tasty cake says otherwise.
Curse you, conservative geniuses!

The national Chamber of Commerce just lost 90% of its membership.
Granted, they did so solely because they'd been vastly over-reporting their numbers for years, not because 90% of businesses in America wised up. But still. It makes a nice headline.
Curious what the before and after would look like? How big a change this is? It's pretty close to this classic.

I know I'm not supposed to, but I like the new Republican website. It's a nice balance between retro and modern. Just don't read the writing. And don't be surprised when the occasional face of a fat white man pops up between the G and the P.

The bad news - only on Wall Street.
Hedge fund manager, can you spare a dime? I mean, not that they don't deserve it, of course. And at least now we get a better sense of where the TARP money is going.
